Dietmar Ecker was nominated spokesman of Ferdinand Lacina, then Federal Minister of Finance in 1988, at the age of 23. In that capacity, he has received numerous awards as Austria’s best spokesman. After a successful campaign management for the former Chancellor Franz Vranitzky in 1995, Ecker left the arena of political communication and established himself as an independent strategy and communications expert. In a short time, his company Ecker & Partner grew to be the largest owner-managed agency in Austria.
Highly appreciated communication performances such as the crisis management for the Tyrolean ski resort of Ischgl during the great avalanche disaster in Paznaun, the media management of Natascha Kampusch in the first days after her escape, the communication management for banks in crisis situations, the strategic monitoring of the successful acquisition of a large equity stake of the Vienna Airport by the Australian fund IFM are just a few examples of the comprehensive and long-term experience of the most sought after communication experts in the country. In summer 2015 Dietmar Ecker transferred his agency to its previous two CEOs. Within the Dietmar Ecker GmbH he now focuses on projects that he considers essential to secure Austria as a business and investment location.
Dietmar Ecker holds a diploma in Sociology and Political Sciences from the University of Vienna.
